Red Rosewood

RED ROSEWOOD (Dalbergia glomerata or cubilquitzensis)T

  • Trade name is Nicaraguan rosewood.

  • Not quite as dense and more red in color than cocobolo when first cut.
However, give it five years and you cannot visually tell the difference between them.

  • We can supply the regular old growth wood, but when this tree has fallen and lain on the ground for three years, small bugs burrow throughout the wood leaving a black cast in their wake.

  • The character that this yields is eye-popping!

  • Counter tops and paneling become richer and deeper in color as the wood oxidizes, rewarding you with ever increasing beauty.
